Car cranks up like it was new

After my BMW stopped running on April 1st (of all days, I thought that it was just the ESS sensor. I got it replaced, but I found out that the car refused to crank. I changed batteries and tried the old hammer tap trick to no avail. The starter had failed completely after 17+ years! I bench-tested the new one and it worked perfectly! I got the old one out finally after almost stripping the long back bolt. I The new one went in with no issue! I put the engine bay back together quickly/securely because I was so ready to see if my car starts. It cranked up far faster than I had hoped! I am very pleased with this starter. I did test the old one and it was indeed non-functional.
