Put this in my 2017 Tahoe to replace the original starter that had over 200k miles on it. I recommend removing the wheel and wheel well cover to access and remove the old starter, which made the job much easier. I was a little worried when I put the old and new starters side by side because they looked a bit different, but after reading other reviews I decided to go ahead and install it. Once the new starter was in and the battery reconnected, my Tahoe fired right up and cranks much stronger than it did with the old worn-out starter.
WOW, talk about a fast whipping starter! Its better than new. Didn't realize how bad the starter was dragging, until it started 'kicking back after starting intermittent causing me to replace it before damaging the flexplate.Noting, as others mentioned, this does look a little different that OE, as the gear is covered in the off position. It's good to go. See the picture. It fit perfect and sounds like a race car firing up now!Expectations exceeded!13mm socket10mm socketRatchet6' extensionneedle nose pliers (easier to gently pull out the plug clip on the solenoid wire than a driver)Removed from the bottom, no need to pull the wheel well well cover.
Starter for 2018 GM 5.3 (all the 5.3's take the same starter). At first, this starter didnt look the same as the one I pulled off and thought maybe I had the wrong one so I went to local parts store. The name brand and cheap parts store versions looked the exact same as this one with the smaller gear housing so I figured this one must actually be the right one after all. This is half the price of the cheapest parts store starter and once I put it on, the truck fired right up.Tip: You will most likely break the clip on the gm pigtail. Instead of replacing it with another pigtail, this starter allows you to remove the connector with one screw then you can cut off the factory connector from the harness and crimp an eyelit connector on the existing wire and use that screw to connect it and never worry about it breaking again.
2016 Chevrolet Silverado 6.2L engine. My starter was stalling after long drives. Seemed it was overheating. However the picture I'm showing is my original starter and I noticed that the new starter did not have this small vent at the bottom of the starter but I didn't notice until after I installed it. My fear is water can enter it. But the starter took care of my problem, it starts better than ever and only time will tell.
Easy install and works as it should.
This is a real good product, works well and fit my 2018 GMC SIERRA perfectly, no issues and no problem. I would recommend this product, thank you!
These starters are good, it has better starting power than a new ac delco one. They also have a very good warranty easy install. thanks
Fit perfect. Truck started right up.
seemingly working fine for now, i think my truck has other wiring issues as it starts quickly sometimes and other times acts like the battery is completely dead.. but that isnt the starters fault. only complaint about this starter is the signal wire connector bracket was bent too close to the motor housing and i couldnt get the connector on, so i had to pry it into a position that would allow the connector to click on. This weakened that bracket and made it kinda flimsy to install the connector had to hold it up with the pry bar so it didnt push back down before getting the connector on.
Starter works great. Great value for the money!
It was as it should be same fit as the one that was in the trk when I got it so far very happy
I bought this product to replace the original 2015 suburban LT starter. The shop installed the new starter in about 32 minutes and it did fit and it's working well. I will admit at first I didn't think that it would not work or fit, but this product made a believer out of me. At a great cost.
Super fast shipping no kidding
I installed this starter on my 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3 LS. It was a perfect fit and started right up. How could you beat the price of $75! I see on the box it comes with a one-year warranty. See pictures. Sorry brick and mortar stores, I just couldn't afford the $340!
Worked good no problems starts my truck
yes. price was way 3 times cheaper than the AutoZone. it came fast and works as it should....
Can't speak to longevity but it was a quick easy install, fit perfectly and truck fired right up. Happy with this product
Very robust material and was a perfect fit for my 2017 suburban
worked amazing on my 2015 gmc sierra
The OEM starter is a little bit moer heavy duty than the replacement part. The nose of the starter where in engages the flywheel is 5/32 wider on the OEM part, the body of the replacement is also a little smaller in diameter than the original one. To me the replacement looks to be a lifghter duty part than the original part, with that said i did install it and it does work, However i think it may not last as long as the original they was 19 years old.
