Fit perfect on Kohler 22hp

It is a little different than factory starter, but mounts up perfectly. Bendinx gear appears to be aluminum so not sure how long it will last. Also when first installed it wouldn't engage. After giving it a bump start it did begin working

Don't Buy Starters from Cub Cadet

I've spent two weeks diagnosing this Cub Cadet LTX1040. I did some testing and got a new starter from Cub Cadet. They put the model number and engine into their database. They sent me a starter that was the correct part number for it, too! My cables were getting hot as hell, and I don't understand why! I spent weeks checking and testing all of my switches, ground, etc.I took the whole harness out and load-tested it. Finally, I tested resistance at the starter and got 200 ohms' I ordered an Amazon starter, and the quality was 1500 times better, and the mower cranked right off.

It Fixed a Big problem.

Starter works pretty good for what it is it revived a 2008 white outdoor by MTD lawnmower with a Kohler courage 20 hp dual cam time will tell if it will last I hear that moisture is the enemy of these starters we keep it in a shed in the backyard so hopefully it'll last a couple more years. We''ve had the mower since 2008 and we used to have starting problems and we could never figure it out so I bought a new starter for my dad and put on the new starter and it solved all our problems. It's crazy to think that a little fix solves a bunch of problems.
