Excellent starter. Perfect fit replacement for Craftsman T130 garden tractor with B&S 18.5hp Intek engine. Installs easily, but will need to remove large flywheel/engine cover for easy access. Installation of starter is easier than removing the rear 2 bolts on the cover! Probably will need to use open end wrench (10mm, i think), as clearance might not allow a socket wrench for one of two mounting bolts for starter. Don't forget to remove starter wire, and replace after install. Great price and well made! Worked perfect after installed.By the way, if your 18.5hp single cylinder Intek engine has a broken compression release, the Wimmer Company makes a compression release that fits the spark plug hole for about $150. Was designed for Harley engines. Installed one on my Craftsman T130, and it works!! Starts right up! No more jumping battery, manually turning flywheel, or frying starter. And no more opening up engine to replace the cam, that will certainly fail again. My engine could fail in the future from broken compression release pieces inside the engine, but i can use it until, or if, that happens!

ALWAYS make sure the gear is metal like this one! Last time I accidentally ordered a plastic one from a different seller!!! It only lasted a couple of months.

I bought a 25 year old MTD Bolens riding mower with a B&S engine. For fun I replaced all the peripherals; solenoid, battery, carburetor, filters and starter. 1.5 hours and about 225 total dollars invested and she‘s purring like a kitten!

Great starter and as always the price was about 1/2 what I would have paid locally. The started did not come with instructions nor did I expect it to since it can be used on many different lawn mowers (it did come with an online and email help line). This starter has 14 teeth. Installing is was pretty simple. There are only 2 nuts and a bolt on the starter. What took me the longest was removing the engine cover, of the 4 bolts two of the bolts were very difficult to get to. Installing the new starter was a piece of cake. I posted a video of the entire process on our rider, each brand will be a little different. I hope this information is helpful.
Great product so far mower starts better then ever .
This starter works great. Turned out I didn‘t really need it after all. The reason why the old starter didn't turn the engine over was due to the fact that when I reinstalled the battery I put it in facing opposite of the way it was originally but I attached the cables the same way as always and that was backwards. So instead of taking everything apart again and reinstalling the old starter and returning the new one I will just keep the old one as a backup.

Great powerful starter! However...Do not get the one with the steel gear if your starter was a nylon or plastic gear to begin with. This will completely strip out your flywheel on your mower engine. The teeth are much too large for some flywheels. I have a v twin 24 horsepower and it almost completely stripped out every tooth on my flywheel. Plus make sure you know how many teeth your gear has on the starter, a 14 tooth or a 16 tooth. If you have to physically count them with a marker I suggest it.

The gear on the first one broke after about three months of use. The manufacturer stood behind the product and replaced it with a new one under Warranty. Excellent customer service. So far so good on the new replacement starter.
